OSENSA Innovations

Q. What is OSENSA Innovations?

A. OSENSA Innovations develops and manufactures fiber optic temperature sensor products for industrial applications, including power transformers, switchgear, generators, semiconductors, and MRI equipment. Fiber optic temperature sensors are solutions consisting of one or more fiber optic probes attached to a temperature transmitter (also known as a signal conditioner).

Q. What Components Do OSENSA’s Switchgear Solutions Include?

A. OSENSA’s fiber optic temperature sensor solutions include the FTX series of temperature transmitters (also known as signal conditioners), fiber optic temperature probes, extension cables, various accessories for ease of installation, and monitoring software.

Q. What applications are OSENSA Fiber Optic Temperature Sensors used?

A. OSENSA Innovations' fiber optic temperature sensor products offer diverse industrial applications. They are usually used in:

  • Switchgear Temperature Monitoring

  • Transformer Winding Hot Spot Temperature Monitoring

  • Generator Winding Temperature Monitoring

  • MRI Temperature Monitoring

  • Semiconductor Chuck Temperature and Process Control

  • Microwave and Induction Heating Control

  • Research and Educational Temperature Sensing

  • Medium and High-Voltage Transformers

  • Medium Voltage Bus Bars, Splices, and Contacts

  • Medium Voltage Motors and Generator Windings

Q. What are the advantages of OSENSA Fiber Optic Temperature Probes?

  • OSENSA's fiber optic temperature sensors do not suffer any technical challenges associated with wireless and infrared thermometers. Fiber optic sensors can be routed directly to critical switchgear monitoring points.

  • OSENSA's low-cost optical temperature sensors are rigidly attached to hot-spot locations and are completely immune to electromagnetic interference and noise bursts caused by high-voltage switching.

  • OSENSA's fiber optic sensors are robust, can be manufactured to various lengths, and work like a conventional thermocouple.

  • Best of all, each OSENSA optical temperature sensor transmitter can monitor three phases, providing analog output and digital RS-485 Modbus RTU communication.

  • OSENSA's fiber optic temperature probes are ideally suited for smart grid switchgear temperature monitoring.

Q. What are the Key Characteristics of OSENSA Temperature Transmitters?

  • OSENSA's optic temperature sensor solutions include the FTX series of temperature transmitters (also known as signal conditioners), fiber optic temperature probes, extension cables, various accessories for ease of installation, and monitoring software.

  • OSENSA's temperature transmitters offer exceptional speed and precision and have the same look and feel as traditional transmitters, including familiar analog outputs and digital buses such as RS-485. Various fiber optic channel counts are supported, as well as probes that are optimized for a host of applications.
